Thermally Modified Southern Yellow Pine

Thermally Modified Southern Yellow Pine combines the natural warmth and character of American softwood with enhanced durability and dimensional stability for exterior applications. Its distinctive grain and rich, warm tone make it a versatile choice for many architectural projects.

Using only heat and steam (no added chemicals), the wood is thermally modified to improve its resistance to moisture, rot, insects, and seasonal movement, creating a durable, high-performance alternative to traditional treated lumber.

FAQS

Thermally Modified Southern Yellow Pine decking can be purchased by the board, linear foot, or square foot, giving you flexibility based on your project requirements. Start your order with us here or call 845-339-6630.

Thermally Modified Southern Yellow Pine is made from responsibly harvested North American wood and produced through an entirely domestic supply chain. Thermal treatment, milling, profiling, and finishing are completed in Macon, Georgia.

Thermal modification uses a controlled process of heat and steam to transform wood at the cellular level without adding chemicals. The wood is heated in an oxygen-free environment to remove moisture and alter its chemical structure, improving durability, dimensional stability, and resistance to rot and insects. The process also gives Southern Yellow Pine a richer, darker color throughout the wood.
