• NOVELTY SIDING -EASTERN WHITE PINE

Novelty siding, also known as cove siding, is a classic pattern dating back to the end of the 19th century. The scoop in this profile allows for more definition in the texture of your siding as opposed to some other more standard profiles. This profile is versatile, as both knotty and clear grades of lumber both finish with a stunning appearance.

Excelsior’s standard novelty pattern is milled from knotty Eastern White Pine and measures with at 3/4″ thick with a 3/8″ lap and 1-1/4″ cove reveal.

Sizes available are nominal (see diagram for actual face sizes). Boards are Kiln Dried and available in S1S2E (surfaced one side, two edges, one rough face). Lengths available are 8′-20′ even lengths only.

  • Western Red Cedar – Bevel

The elegance and charm this style brings to the exterior of your home cannot be outshined by other siding products, such as vinyl and aluminum. WRC is the most popular wood type available in beveled siding, installed on some of the most luxurious homes and estates.

    • Grades Available: A&btr, Select Knotty and CVG. Different sizes are available for each grade.
    • Primed Fingerjoined  Beveled siding is also available. Primed Fingerjoined/edge-glued WRC products are durable and environmentally friendly options, manufactured using the highest quality grade of cedar available; Clear Vertical Grain.

  • Western Red Cedar – Shiplap

Western Red Cedar (WRC) is an excellent choice for exterior uses, such as siding and decking. WRC is lightweight, easy to work with, and is naturally resistant to moisture, decay and insect damage. This species has a beautiful warm grain and the ability to take a variety of coatings (stains, primers, and topcoats ).

    • Grade A & Btr. includes limiting provisions such as small seasoning checks, occasional light skips on edges and back of the boards, and suited best for projects with semi-transparent clear coating.
    • Select Knotty grade has great character. With sound and tight knots, Select Knotty is often used in siding and interior paneling applications.

Shiplap siding is durable, versatile, and easier to work with than other commonly used siding options. With the ability to be installed both vertically and horizontally, shiplap meets the criteria for multiple different design looks. Compared to aluminum and vinyl, shiplap wooden siding is relatively easy to install, as well as to repair. In addition, shiplap profiles produce a tight seal, resulting in superior protection against moisture and wind-related damages.

Excelsior’s standard shiplap pattern measures at  3/4″ thick with a 1/2″ lap or 3/8″ lap (see picture diagram for face measurements)

Sizes available are nominal (see diagram for actual face sizes). Boards are Kiln Dried and available in S1S2E (surfaced one side, two edges, one rough face).
